Spine Surgery

Spine surgery encompasses a range of surgical procedures aimed at addressing conditions affecting the spine. It's often considered when conservative treatments like medication, physical therapy, or lifestyle modifications have not provided sufficient relief. Common spine surgeries include:

Discectomy: This involves the removal of a portion of a herniated or damaged disc that may be pressing on a nerve, causing pain or weakness.

Laminectomy: The removal of part of the vertebral bone (lamina) to relieve pressure on the spinal cord or nerves. It's often performed to treat conditions like spinal stenosis.

Fusion: Fusion surgeries aim to stabilize the spine by joining two or more vertebrae together. This can be done with bone grafts or implants and is often performed to address instability or deformities.

Vertebroplasty and Kyphoplasty: These procedures involve injecting bone cement into fractured vertebrae to stabilize and relieve pain, particularly in cases of vertebral compression fractures.

Disc Replacement: In this procedure, a damaged spinal disc is replaced with an artificial one to maintain flexibility and reduce pain.
